Building upon the legacy of first-ever show homes at Reynolds Plantation, Linger Longer Communities proudly announces the grand opening of the first-ever Points North Magazine Signature Home at Achasta. Designed to integrate seamlessly into its natural surroundings, the home stretches skyward through the tree canopy, to reveal views of the distant Appalachian peaks. The 4,500 square-foot-plus showcase home, complete with 10-foot barrel vaulted ceilings, features four bedrooms and 3.5 baths, not to mention a sizable wine cellar and tasting room.
"Understated elegance is the theme," says Tom Allhoff, vice president of Linger Longer Homes, which is oversaw the construction process of the Points North Signature Home. And the understated elegance of the two level hillside masterpiece is evident throughout — from the gourmet kitchen and abundance of outdoor living space to the media room with seating for six and the welcoming family room with a two-story stone fireplace. "What we set out to create," Allhoff said, "is a home with that mountain feel — with open spaces, viewscapes from every room and a lot of outdoor living space — but with the functionality and design features typically found in urbanistic floor plans."
The interior is a combination of natural woods and contemporary accessories, from the window treatments to the kitchen cabinets. "Our goal is to bring a modern, sophisticated feel to a rustic, mountain home," said project interior designer Julie St. John- Starcher. "We went with trendier, cleaner lines to show how the furniture you have in the city can still fit in your home in the mountains."
Now open for tours, Linger Longer Communities invites you to be among the first to tour this first-of-its-kind home and experience first hand the enchantment of Achasta. Admission to the Points North Showcase Home at Achasta is $5/person or $10/car, in the form of a charitable donation to Community Helping Place.
