Drexel Heritage National Show Home

Drexel Heritage National Show Home at Achasta is the first-ever national show home for Drexel Heritage–and the first of its kind at Achasta. In the tradition of the ultimate concept homes built at the Linger Longer Community of Reynolds Plantation–the 2004 GOLF Magazine Dream House, the 2007 Golf Digest/Golf For Women Signature House and the 2007 Southern Living Idea House–the Drexel Heritage National Show Home is the stunning result of an innovative partnership.

In the four-bedroom, four and-a-half bath home, builders Hall and Trice created rustic features to blend into the mountainside location. "We wanted to create a home that was more than just a structure," said builder Dennis Hall of Hall and Trice. "Thoughtful placement of the home on the lot creates a sense of privacy and true mountain experience. We brought the elements of the outdoors inside; using native rock, vaulted wood ceilings, exposed timber frame and wood flooring."

Hall's partner Don Trice explains the feeling guests experience when touring the residence. "These natural elements combine to give you the sense of being at a mountain resort," he says. Kitchen

Other notable features include a master suite on the main floor, a terrace-level media room, screened porch, outdoor fireplace and an elevated breezeway overlooking the sloping woodland. Inside, an expansive kitchen awaits with granite counters, wide-planked wooden floors, and stainless steel appliances. "The kitchen is inviting–casual but sophisticated," said interior designer Jan Vorderbrug. And while the kitchen is perfect for hosting large soirees, it's also a place to gather around the kitchen island and chat over a glass of wine.

All of this combines with elements from several Drexel Heritage furnishing collections, including 'At Home in the High Country.' The result? A high-concept lodge look that relies on a unique combination of leather, hammered metal, slate, real wood and even natural bark. "It all flows together really nicely," Vorderbrug says.
