Over 1,000 Visitors Find Inspiration At The Southern Living Idea House At Achasta

Dahlonega, Ga. (June 12, 2009) – Over 1,000 people visited the 2009 Southern Living Idea House at Achasta in Dahlonega in the first five days it has been open to the public.  The Idea House is one of just two in the country and is currently open for tours at Achasta, the luxury mountain community created by the developers of Reynolds Plantation.

The 2009 Southern Living Idea House provides inspiration for those building, remodeling or decorating a home.  The Idea House, built by Linger Longer Homes, is also a wonderful example of comfortable and elegant mountain living, epitomizing the lifestyle of Achasta.

The Idea House, which overlooks the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, is a three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath residence featuring nearly 3,800-square feet of interior space, plus abundant outdoor living areas.  Noteworthy features include the “tower porch”, grilling deck and first-ever Southern Living Dream Kitchen with a disappearing window wall.

“We were thrilled to welcome so many to Achasta during the Idea House’s grand opening week,” says Ron Larson, managing director of Achasta.  “And we are excited to host many more as they visit this spectacular house and our one-of-a-kind mountain community.”

The house is open now through Sunday Oct. 18. Hours are 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday – Saturday and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., on Sunday.  Tickets are $5 at the door with a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales benefiting the local United Way of Dahlonega/Lumpkin County.
