Dahlonega, Ga. (August 15, 2008) — Achasta is excited to announce the completion and grand opening of the long awaited Bear Paw Connector road. The road officially named Golden Bear Pass and designed by Linger Longer Communities planning and development division now connects the Bear Paw Ridge neighborhood to the other neighborhoods in the 1,058 acre Achasta mountain community.
The road's official grand opening event will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2008. Beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony and speech from Ron Larson, managing director of Achasta, the opening will include a reception for Achasta members and guests.
"The completion of Golden Bear Pass, the new road on Bear Paw Ridge, is a great moment for our community" says Larson. "The grand opening of this thoroughfare means that finally, Achasta has the feel of one complete community. All residents have access to the amenities and to one another, all while staying within the community."
The new Golden Bear Pass leads residents and their guests down the ridge toward the Chestatee River Valley and Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course passing by the 8th and 13th greens before crossing the Chestatee River and connecting to Birch River Drive, Achasta's main thoroughfare.
In the past, Bear Paw residents had to leave their portion of the community and reenter Achasta through the main gate on State Road 60 to gain access to the clubhouse, golf, swim and tennis facilities. From now on, Bear Paw Ridge residents will have the option to get around the community either from the main entrance or Golden Bear Pass.
Throughout the construction of the new Bear Paw Pass, Achasta and Linger Longer Communities have maintained their commitment to the environment by preserving as much of the natural landscape as possible, nestling the road into the mountain side and among the trees, thus continuing to preserve 49% of Achasta as green space.
