Road to Achasta.

The story of Achasta begins with the Tsalogi (Cherokee) word for light. The name Achasta is derived from this word, and it is used in tribute to the Cherokee people and the Chestatee River. Known as the "River of Running Lights," the Chestatee flows through the community, illustrating the light of new beginnings—and it is this light that illuminates not only the landscape of Achasta, but the cornerstones upon which this Linger Longer Community is built:

  • Transforming spaces into meaningful places. A region alive with stories and heritage, Achasta has not yet achieved its full potential. Our job is to take what exists and transform it into a community worthy of the Linger Longer brand, which means making Achasta into a place where people connect, where experiences happen, where traditions begin, where stories come to life and where memories become etched on each citizen's soul.
  • Going Beyond the Beyond. This cornerstone underscores our commitment to exceeding the expectation of our members. It applies to the planned improvements of the property that include upgrading the golf course, enhancing the clubhouse, creating the Mountain View Club, enhancing the bridges that cross the river, designing the planned river park, preserving the sweeping vistas, blazing better hiking trails and protecting the land.
  • Leaving a Legacy. As a place of beginnings, Achasta enables its citizens—and those of Dahlonega—to begin their own legacies as well as carrying on those that already exist. We are committed to leaving Achasta and Dahlonega better than we found it. Employees and members are encouraged to volunteer in the community and contribute ideas to make Achasta and Dahlonega the best, most meaningful places they can be. In the language of Achasta, we allow people to "pass the torch" to the next generation.
  • Revering Nature. At Achasta, we adhere to the concept of minimal disturbance in creating our community; using practices that help us protect the land, working with it, not against it. Here, we have an abundance of nature—in the river, in the mountains, in the forest—and we understand that the closer we can bring citizens to nature, the more enriched their lives become. It isn't just the landscape of Achasta itself; the property is in the middle of some of north Georgia's most vibrant ecosystems, with wide-ranging plant and animal life inhabiting the region.
  • Having Serious Fun. Although golf is a given at Achasta, the connections and experiences people have while on the course is infinitely more important. We take this same philosophy when it comes to member events and activities at Achasta, and within Dahlonega. We place a premium on fun at Achasta, utilizing the "soft" programming that Reynolds Plantation took to new heights. This means residents can look forward to a wide range of truly inclusive activities: golfing, hiking, fishing, animal tracking, camp fires, a holiday festival of lights, concerts under the stars, tubing, kayaking, attending performances, going on excursions and more. We enable all citizens to "let their light shine," and recognize that it is not the "bricks and sticks" that make a place meaningful, but the memories created and connections experienced there.

Achasta is also a community of differentiators, from a commitment to affordability and accessibility to preserving a natural balance with our environment, and within truly interconnected communities. In this way we hope to create the best possible lifestyle and community for our members, one in which residents will want to linger longer.
